Ground Beef with Quail Eggs

This easy to cook recipe is just one of the dishes that Filipinos truly love. And since I am not feeling very well, this is just very good menu for today because I don’t have to do much effort in cooking it.
I used ground beef in this particular recipe. My Mom usually used ground pork way back in the Philippines but since I only have in stock of ground beef, it is the main ingredient I used. What made this recipe special is the quail eggs that is indeed blends well with the savory ground beef.

Ingredients:
  • ½ Kg Ground Beef
  • 1 can of cooked quail eggs
  • 1 Carrot – grated or finely diced
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 head garlic – minced
  • 1 medium sized onion – minced
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • water
  • Salt / fish sauce
  • Pepper
  • Oil

Procedure:
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Sauté garlic and onion.
  3. Mix-in the ground beef.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.  Add small amount of water and let the ground beef simmer for 20 minutes or ‘til cooked.
  5. Add in the tomato sauce, carrots and green peas. Let it simmer for additional 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add in the cooked quail eggs.
  7. Have a taste to judge if you need some adjustments in seasoning.
  8. Serve with rice.
