This easy to cook recipe is just one of the dishes that Filipinos truly love. And since I am not feeling very well, this is just very good menu for today because I don’t have to do much effort in cooking it.
I used ground beef in this particular recipe. My Mom usually used ground pork way back in the Philippines but since I only have in stock of ground beef, it is the main ingredient I used. What made this recipe special is the quail eggs that is indeed blends well with the savory ground beef.
Ingredients:
- ½ Kg Ground Beef
- 1 can of cooked quail eggs
- 1 Carrot – grated or finely diced
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 head garlic – minced
- 1 medium sized onion – minced
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- water
- Salt / fish sauce
- Pepper
- Oil
Procedure:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Sauté garlic and onion.
- Mix-in the ground beef.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add small amount of water and let the ground beef simmer for 20 minutes or ‘til cooked.
- Add in the tomato sauce, carrots and green peas. Let it simmer for additional 5-7 minutes.
- Add in the cooked quail eggs.
- Have a taste to judge if you need some adjustments in seasoning.
- Serve with rice.
