Rice, Ham and Cheese Rolls on Stick

I know it is a bit unusual to hear Rice, ham and cheese rolls, but believe me it rocks! It is a sushi-inspired appetizer or snack. Yes, a meal-in-a-roll. I love this kind of food especially because it is easy to prepare and great for a get together or a cocktail party. And to make a little twist for this recipe, I made it a little spicy just enough to crave for more. So without further ado here's how it goes.

Ingredients:

  • Ham - sliced
  • Cheese -  sliced
  • Rice
  • Spicy Bread Crumbs
  • Salt
  • Egg
  • Oil
  • Toothpick

Procedure:

  1. Place a slice of cheese on top of a ham.
  2. Put a spoon of rice on top of it.
  3. Carefully roll the ham to cover cheese and rice. Seal it with toothpick on two sides and in the middle.
  4. Do the same for the rest.
  5. Divide 1 roll into 3, according to the distance of your 3 toothpicks.
  6. Dip each small rolls to a beaten egg and then to breadcrumbs seasoned with salt.
  7. Heat oil in a pan, just enough to deep-fry the rolls.
  8. Fry the rolls in a low medium fire for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Once cooked, place it on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
  10. Serve with ketchup or mayo =D
