Videoke mode with my honey. And while he's at the peak of vocalization I am busy baking one of my favorite pies =D. Well, my husband is actually the one who requested for it and as usual in-charge of buying the ingredients. So not to prolong here's my version of apple pie from the scratch.

Procedure:
Ingredients:
Crust:
- 1 1/2 cup self raising flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoon of softened butter
- 6-10 tablespoon cold water
Filling:
- 2 cups of chopped apples
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoon cinnamon powder
- 1 beaten egg for coating
Procedure:
- Preheat oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F).
- Combine all ingredients for the pie crust. Mix well until you create a dough.
- Roll the dough in a flat surface, just enough for the pie crust.
- Form the flattened dough in the pie plate.
- Bake the pie crust for 5-7 minutes.
- Flatten the remaining dough and cut 10 pieces long strips that will be used to cover the pie later. Otherwise, you can just used plain, round, flat dough to cover it. Set aside
- Combine chopped apples, cinnamon powder, sugar and water in a casserole.
- Simmer it for 3 minutes.
- Let it cool and pour it to the slightly pre-baked crust.
- Cover it with the dough strips.
- Once properly covered, brush it with the beaten egg.
- Bake for about 15-20 miniutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Slice and serve. Enjoy! =D
