Pinoy Tsibog: Restaurant Review : The Filipino Kitchen Restaurant

TFKR was established in Abu Dhabi last 2012 and Chicken Inasal was their favorite main course. My husband and I heard about this restaurant late last year because of their boodle fight way of serving food. But since the minimum person to avail this package is 4, we were not able to go there and have a try. Only recently when my friends and I planned for a late dinner and we decided to try this.

We are all excited to try what The Filipino Kitchen Restaurant can offer us with their version of Boodle fight here in UAE.

First, you have to book a table at least a day before your date. You have several options for Boodle Fight packages available that I've posted below. We chose The General package which is good for 4-6 people worth AED199, that doesn't include drinks yet.

The Filipino Kitchen Restaurant is easy to locate in the heart of Abu Dhabi but parking is a bit difficult find. Inside the restaurant is a very homey Filipino ambience though it is not so spacious. The staff are all courteous and very helpful to us. We were seated in second floor which is a bit more spacious for a group of hungry customers. Only thing I didn't like much is that if the area is crowded, all voices and little noises are echoed everywhere. Otherwise the venue is OK.

Food serving was very fast. Though we ordered our boodle fight package in advance, we still added some more from their menu and they serve it almost in an instant.

The food on our package tasted very good. Good rice quality in definitely an excellent point. Though, personally I didn't find it appealing to serve Kare-kare for boodle fight. I think it didn't match the concept of the other dishes which were mainly grilled and stir-fried. The grilled chicken were very tasty, the sisig was ok, the kilawing tanigue was ok as well, the beefsteak and shrimps are very good , perfectly matched with ensaladang talong. We added beef tapa and it was excellent.

To sum up the our total experience, it was very much worth the try! We enjoyed the new experience and of course the good food.
