Scotch Eggs

One of my experimental recipe on a Friday afternoon was my version of Scotch Eggs =D
Scotch Egg is bassically a fried hard-boiled egg covered with sausage and breadcrumbs. It was usually covered with a thicker mashed sausage compare to what I did. Well, since I have insufficient sausage in the kitchen I just tried to evenly covered my eggs with what I have.

So here's an easy snack recipe....

Ingredients:
  • 2 Hard Boiled Eggs (peeled)
  • 1/4 cup mashed sausage
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fine breadcrumbs
  • salt
  • oil

Procedure:
  1. Gently cover each hard boiled egg with mashed sausage and form a ball.
  2. Try to keep the sausage an even thickness as you form a layer of sausage around each hard-boiled egg.
  3. Beat raw egg and season with salt.
  4. Take one sausage-wrapped egg, and roll it in the beaten eggs to coat and cover completely.
  5. Using a large spoon, take the egg out of the beaten egg, and put it in the bread crumbs.  Gently roll each egg around in the bread crumbs to completely coat each egg. Do the same with the other egg.
  6. Heat pan with oil in a medium high fire.
  7. Fry the egg for about 3-5 minutes making sure that it was evenly cooked on every side.
  8. Using a tong, remove the eggs on the pan and put on a plate with paper napkin to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
