Singapore Food Adventure

Singapore is definitely a food paradise for food lovers, like me. A wide variety of food is available everywhere to satisfy the appetites of people from different cultures and races. Food are freshly cooked and the aroma will persistently linger in your mind until you try the mouthwatering dish. Singaporean food are mainly influenced by Chinese, Indian and Malay cuisines.

Being in Singapore for few days was such a relief from my daily work stress. My husband and I chose Singapore to visit because of Universal Studios and the food experience. Well, indeed, our food adventure was the best part of our trip :)

We stayed in Marrison Hotel in Bugis Street. We chose Bugis as suggested by my cousin since it is very accessible to MRT connections. Bugis was definitely a good choice since it is a food heaven! Love Food Festival 2016 in Abu Dhabi

Love Food Festival in Abu Dhabi was held last February 18-21 in Mushrif Central Park. My husband and I visited it on the first day. Since we were there early, the park was not crowded and the aroma while on our way to the caravans was so tempting!

There were many food caravans from London and some caravans were from here in UAE. I would like to try it all but since I'm on a budget and slightly sick, I couldn't indulge so much to everything.

Here are some photos from my visit.

It was a pity I couldn't have churros :( I have a cough so I avoided eating sweets.

Very unique!

I ordered chicken pad thai from Bangwok and it was yum! The serving was good for two :)

Grilled cheese from The Cheese Truck was one of my favorites. The taste? Heaven! ;)

This is Braco (British Tacos) from The Roadery is definitely delicious! One of my favorites since their last year's visit here in Abu Dhabi.

We enjoyed watching baking demo by French pâtissier and celebrity chef  the "Cake Boy" Eric Landlard.

The night was young but we left early because it was very cold. Although, I didn't had much food to try, I really enjoyed the night. Indeed, food festivals are my favorite. Good food, vibrant music, happy people.

Abu Dhabi Street Feast 2015

Abu Dhabi Food Festival held the Street Feast for the first time where local and international food caravans parked in the street of Abu Dhabi offering diverse range of delectable cuisines for reasonable prices. The street feast started on February 5-7 in Abu Dhabi Western region, February 12-14 in Al Ain and February 19-21 in Abu Dhabi Corniche. Food caravans from United Kingdom were the highlight of the event and crowds' main attraction specially for a gastronomic adventurer like me.

Aside from the food trucks, there were also cooking demos from renowned chefs. I missed Chef Andy Bates demo but quite lucky to watched Chef Jun Tanaka. He demonstrated a very simple and quick dish of ‘Herb Crusted Lamb’ which unfortunately my husband is not really a fan of lambs. Anyway, one thing that I’ve learned from Chef Jun, even before from his show in Food Network, is to always taste whatever you’re cooking, before and after adding-up extra condiments. I luckily had a photo with him after his demo :)

After watching cooking demo, my husband and I started to check what we could buy from all the food trucks since we have set a limit for our food adventure budget. So, we decided to have grilled cheese sandwich from The Cheese Truck – one of the best selling that day; sweet treat of Churros and Chocolate; and my personal favorite, wagyu beef cheek Braco (British Tacos) from The Roadery of Dan Shearman. We also tried Cucumber and Rose lemonade from Soft Drinks for Grown Ups.

I would say that the concept of Street Feast is definitely a breath of fresh air in the Emirates especially to food and nature lovers. Even sandstorm didn't hinder the crowd from visiting the event, just shows that the Street feast is a huge success.
